Acas has published its 2017/18 Annual Report, which reveals that Early Conciliation notifications have increased by 19% compared to the same period the previous year. The report also shows that: the number of cases involving a tribunal claim has increased by 39%; Acas conciliated in 715 national and regional disputes in a wide range of sectors (with pay and employment conditions the top cause); Acas helped to settle 92% of collective disputes; the Acas helpline answered 783,000 calls, the top three topic categories being (1) discipline, dismissal and grievances, (2) contracts, and, (3) wages and the national minimum wage; and, nearly 500,000 users made use of Acas’ online helpline advice service.
