FA and Wembley run for children
Staff from Wembley Stadium and the FA are taking part in the Microsoft UK Challenge 2009 to raise money for the NSPCC.
The two teams of six will be competing from 10 to 14 June 2009 to raise vital funds for the NSPCC. Four days and nights of adrenalin-filled action will see teams kayaking, mountain biking, navigating by torchlight and running, but also using their brains to crack codes and complete complex tasks. With details confirmed only hours before each stage, teams compete against the clock and each other, while the organisers constantly push them to their limits.
The teams:
Team 60 – Peter Swordy, Darren Ali, Chris Manson, Alistair Spiers, James McMullan, Stuart Ramsey.
Team 61 – Louise Hatch, Steffy Jordan, Najmie Allette, Marieke Johnson, Kieran Nokes, Luke Godfrey.
Now in its ninth year, the event has raised over £3.3 million for the NSPCC and CHILDREN 1ST. The Wembley teams have set themselves a fundraising target of £3,000 each which would be an immensely important contribution towards funding the NSPCC.
